Four-Man Team Events: NOTE: For teams with less than four players, a blind draw from another team will be used to compute the team score. The blind draw’s playing level will be equivalent to the playing level (A,B,C or D) of the missing player from that team.
TEAM STABLEFORD: Points are awarded for each player’s net score on each hole using the following point system- Double Bogey or higher=0 pts; Bogey= 1 pt; Par= 2 pts; Birdie= 3 pts; Eagle= 4 pts; Double Eagle= 5 pts.
BEST BALL: Team score for each hole is the single lowest net score.
TWO (2) BEST BALLS: Team score for each hole is the sum of the two lowest net scores.
THREE (3) BEST BALLS: Team score for each hole is the sum of the three lowest net scores.
ONE BEST BALL NET/ ONE BEST BALL GROSS: Team score for each hole is the sum of one best ball net and one best ball gross. The scores must be from two different players in each foursome.
SCRAMBLE: Each team member tees off, select one of those shots, and each team member hits from that location. Repeat this process to the conclusion of each hole. The team must use the tee ball of each member of the team a minimum of three times per round. For teams with less than four players, the fourth shot will be rotated on each hole between the remaining players. This pre-determined rotation will be maintained throughout the round (you do not start over on each hole).
MODIFIED SCRAMBLE: The same rules apply as a regular Scramble until the team reaches the green. Choose one ball and, from that point forward, all players must putt out and the sum of four scores are recorded. The three tee ball rule will apply as will the pre-determined three man rotation rule.
SHAMBLE: Each team member tees off and the best shot is selected. From there, each member of the team plays their own ball to the completion of each hole and the sum of four scores is recorded. Each individual score will be determined based on full handicaps. The three tee ball rule will apply and, in the event of a three-man team, the pre-determined rotation will be used but only on the tee. Thereafter, choose the best drive and each of the three team members will play individually from that point. The team will receive their fourth score per hole using the blind draw rule.
FOUR CLUB: Each team member selects three clubs and a putter and plays the entire round with only those four clubs. The team score is the sum of the two best balls on each hole. Two-Man Team Events: Note: For a team with less than two players, a blind draw from another team will be used to compute the team score. The blind draw’s playing level will be equivalent to the playing level (A,B,C or D) of the missing player from that team. Games will alternate flights between A&B and C&D and A&D and B&C.
TEAM STABLEFORD: Points are awarded for each player’s net score using the same point system as Four-Man Team Stableford.
BEST BALL: Team score for each hole is the single lowest net score.
MODIFIED ALTERNATE SHOT: Each player tees off, the best drive is selected, and the team will alternate shots from that point to the conclusion of the hole. The three tee ball rule will apply. Individual Events by Flights (all individual events will be flighted): INDIVIDUAL NET SCORE: Full handicap is deducted from the total gross score. Each hole must be played out to conclusion. The Equitable Stroke Play handicap rule cannot be used to determine the score for any hole.
INDIVIDUAL STABLEFORD: Points are awarded for each player’s net score using the same point system as Four-Man Team Stableford. Tournaments: Note: For the President’s Cup, CHMGA Championship and the Member/Guest Tournament, each member’s handicap will be based on his lowest handicap index from within the prior six months preceding each scheduled tournament.
CHMGA Club Championship: Players will be divided into flights with the exception of the Championship Flight. The Championship Flight shall be comprised of any member, regardless of handicap, who wishes to participate and the flight will play at scratch from the green tees. All other flights will play from the blue tees and the lowest handicap index rule will apply. If a tie should occur, a card play-off beginning with the 18th hole will determine the flight winner. A member of the Tournament or Rules Committee will be present to officiate and his ruling will be absolute.
President’s Cup: This is a single-elimination match play tournament using the lowest handicap index rule and will be played from the Blue tees. An individual net qualifier to be conducted on a league day will determine the participants and to seed the tournament. The Tournament Committee will then post the seeded matches. The first matches must be completed before the second Wednesday after the qualifier. All subsequent matches must be played within one week (a week begins on Thursday and ends on Wednesday) until conclusion. If either of the players is unable to play within the week, that player forfeits the match.
Member/Guest: Teams will be comprised of a CHMGA member and a guest who is not a member. Each guest should have a valid and verifiable GHIN handicap. There will be a minimum of two flights for this event. The event will consist of several games established by the Member/Guest Tournament Committee.
